BJP MP booked for making inflammatory statement

The Sirsi police have registered a criminal case against Anantkumar Hegde, BJP MP for Uttara Kannada, for allegedly making inflammatory statement at a press conference in Sirsi on Sunday.

Mr. Hegde allegedly said, “As long as Islam is there in this world, terrorism will be there. Until and unless we root out Islam from this world, terrorism cannot be eradicated.” Deputy Superintendent of Police Prasanna Desai said that a suo motu case had been registered under Section 295 A of the IPC.
